New SEM
502-D Gold Accordion
This
is one of the last original SEM acoustic accordions. Now SEM is part of
the
Suoni company along with Menghini, Scandalli, and Paolo Soprani. The
trend is to keep the name for reedless accordions, most likely to avoid
eroding the price of the Scandalli Super VI that is practically the
same instrument today but sells for a lot more. While SEM was still an
independent entity they produced high quality instruments for other
companies like Iorio, Concerto, Imperial, Pietro, Piermaria etc. The
accordion I am presenting here features 4/5
sets of hand made reeds, genuine leather reeds
valves, double tone chamber,
ivory-finished keys and buttons, gold plated metal parts,
interchangeable musette reeds, and excellent mechanics
throughout.
